A Winter Reset

Happy New Year (again). January has officially ended, February has begun, and winter is still very much clocked in. The year didn’t ease in gently — it arrived with snow, ice, and an unexpected pause from the usual day-to-day hustle. I’ve been snowed and iced in for eight days now, and honestly, it’s been a pleasant break.
Working from home has allowed me to slow down and lean into simple joys — cooking, baking, and getting creative with whatever I already had in my fridge and pantry. It’s been fun exploring new meal ideas and letting creativity lead the way instead of routine.
The weather itself has been different, to say the least. We had two days of snow followed by layers of ice, and then several days of below-freezing temperatures. Roads remain coated in ice, and the cold hasn’t let up much at all.
I’m learning to give myself grace in these quiet moments, and I encourage others to do the same — to rest, reset, and not feel pressured to be productive especially when the mood simply isn’t there.
For now, I’ll be right here — staying warm, staying grateful, and letting winter do what winter does best.
