After eight months of dedication, late evenings, homework, projects, volunteer hours, and a final exam, I can finally say it: I am officially a Master Gardener!
When I first started this journey, I knew it would be a commitment, but I don’t think I realized just how much I would grow along the way. Twice a week, I attended evening classes that opened my eyes to everything from soil science to plant diseases, landscape design, and sustainable gardening practices. On top of that, there were weekly homework assignments, a class project, and hours of studying for the final exam—which I’m proud to say I aced with an A!

Beyond the classroom, I also had to complete a set number of volunteer hours—and this was the most challenging, yet rewarding parts of the program. Volunteering gave me the chance to get hands-on experience, connect with other gardeners, and contribute to the community in meaningful ways. Whether it was working in demonstration gardens, sharing knowledge, or supporting local events, each hour spent reminded me why I’m so passionate about gardening and self-sustainability.
I also want to take a moment to extend a special thank-you to my family, friends, and fellow classmates. From offering words of encouragement and inspiration, to long nights of helping me study, to showing up at my volunteer events with visits and plant purchases, to promoting my food blog, to brainstorming project ideas with me — your love, kindness, and cheer made this milestone possible.
This journey has been more than just checking boxes and earning a certificate. For me, it represents a personal commitment to growth, learning, and sharing what I love with others.
Gardening is a passion of mine, but now, as a Master Gardener, I feel even more inspired to continue building that passion into something bigger—whether that’s through my food blog, my love for houseplants, or simply encouraging others to start growing something of their own.

Earning this badge, certificate, and even my Master Gardener license plate may be symbols of achievement, but for me, they’re reminders of perseverance, dedication, and the joy that comes from working with the earth. 🌱
