Roscoe’s House of Chicken ’N Waffles — affectionately called Roscoe’s by just about everyone — and well known for their soul food across Los Angeles. While they serve a full menu of comforting classics, their most famous claim to fame is, of course, the legendary fried chicken and waffle combination.

It’s been years since my last visit to LA, so I knew exactly where my first food stop had to be. Roscoe’s. No hesitation. No debate.

I arrived for brunch, and the atmosphere was just as I remembered — bustling, lively, and full of energy. The aroma of sizzling fried chicken, maple syrup, and warm spices filled the air— it smelled like pure heaven.

My plate arrived in record time, loaded with fried chicken, a golden waffle, scrambled eggs, and a side of creamy grits. The chicken was piping hot with a perfectly crisp coating. Each bite was seasoned to perfection.

The waffle was a golden beauty — crisp on the outside, pillowy-soft on the inside, pairing well with the savory chicken. A drizzle of syrup transformed it into the ultimate comfort bite.

The scrambled eggs were light, fluffy, and the grits were smooth and creamy. I'm already thinking about my next visit.

Roscoe’s isn’t just a meal — it’s a piece of Los Angeles history. And after all these years, it’s safe to say they still have my heart… and my appetite.
